The Finest & Best Tools Available

Newtown Smile Dentistry is on the cutting edge of the dental and oral health industry. We are constantly seeking methods and equipment that are proven to deliver great results to our patients. The following are some examples of the technology we use in the office regularly.

Digital X-Ray

Digital X-rays are an ideal option for dental work, as they don’t require as much radiation as a traditional film X-ray. Digital X-rays instantly link to our computers and allow us to easily describe what we see. Armed with this information, we can decide on a treatment plan faster and give the patient results to smile about that much sooner.

Panoramic 2D Scan

Panoramic scans capture the entire oral cavity in a 2D image in less than a minute. They are used to provide important information about a patient’s oral health, including assessing wisdom teeth, evaluating developmental abnormalities, detecting lesions, and more.

Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) 3D Scan

A CBCT 3D scan captures multiple images from numerous angles to reconstruct a 3D image of a patient’s head and neck structures. It provides comprehensive information with high accuracy and a low dose of radiation. We use the CBCT scan to measure the patient’s jaw accurately, detect lesions, and aid in planning complex surgeries to avoid complications.

Intraoral Scanning

Intraoral scanning takes a digital impression of a patient’s mouth and generates a 3D model. It eliminates the use of uncomfortable putty impression materials for patients, which yield inaccuracies and even induce the gag reflex. The data from the scan is used to assess the patient's mouth, and then we design and manufacture a prosthesis with a precise fit and predictable aesthetic outcome.

Intraoral Photography

Intraoral photography uses a small camera to capture HD images of the patient’s teeth and soft tissues. The images help detect any abnormalities in the mouth such as cracks, lesions, cavities, and more.

Extraoral Scanning with RAYFace

RAYFace’s extraoral 3D face scanning goes beyond taking images of a patient's teeth. It provides an overall image of the patient’s facial profile that can be used to design an ideal smile for the patient.

Digital Smile Design

Digital smile design uses images of a patient's facial profile, such as HD photographs of the patient’s face and smile, an intraoral and extraoral scan, and even 3D images, to craft a beautiful smile for the patient. The desired aesthetic smile is achieved before starting any dental procedures so that the outcome is predictable.

Primeprint 3D Printer

Primeprint is an automated, medical-grade quality 3D printer. It uses biocompatible materials to manufacture models, night guards, surgical guides, temporary teeth, dentures, and more.
